Bringing Culture to Newlands
Culture Wine Bar Newlands was born from the kind of neighbourhood wine bars Rox and I have fallen in love with on our travels.
The small, tucked-away places you stumble across while walking through Barcelona. Warm, cosy spaces where the person behind the bar offers you a taste before you’ve even ordered a glass and where every pour comes with something simple and delicious on the side.
That is what we wanted to bring to Newlands: a neighbourhood wine bar built around good wine, great food and no pomp or snobbery. A place for the local community, whether you love Rosé, Chenin, Burgundy or something completely new.
After growing Culture on Bree Street, Newlands felt like the natural next step. This is Culture brought into the Southern Suburbs, into our own neighbourhood, for friends, neighbours and anyone who loves a good glass of wine.
